November 2001 Newsletter
A new club web site has been established at www.lcwildlife.org. It includes information about
the range, a list of club officers, contact information, archived newsletters, etc. Get on line and
check it out!
The club still needs more volunteer help, particularly in the form of range officers. I know this
time of year, with hunting seasons in full swing, it may not be a high priority for many of you to
help see that others have a place to shoot. However, without help to run the range, and this is
serious, the range would be forced to close. The Board has come up with some incentives to
help recruit and keep range officers, including waiving annual dues for members who have
served as range officer at least six days in the previous year, and allowing range officers to go out
to shoot at the range at times the range is not normally open as long as they are accompanied by
another person for safety reasons. Come on guys, this is a volunteer organization, and without
volunteers, there is no club.
Annual elections for Board of Directors and Officers of the club are coming up very soon.
Nominations for the Board of Directors will begin at the November general membership
meeting. We must have a quorum of at least 15 voting members to conduct nominations.
There are five Director's positions open - two to replace Directors who resigned, and three whose
terms expire at the end of 2001. Final nominations and election of Directors will be at the
December membership meeting on December 5. Immediately following election of Directors
will be nominations for Officers. Offices of President, Vice President, and Second Vice
President are open to Directors who have served on the Board the previous year. Election of
Officers will follow nomination of Officers at the December meeting.
The Lewiston Pistol club will hold a silhouette shoot on November 17th at the LCWC range.
Open to all shooters, using handguns (scoped or open sights) and cowboy action rifles.
The Lewiston Pistol Club is extending an invitation to any LCWC members who wish to shoot
handguns or .22 rifles at the indoor police range on 16th Ave. as long as a pistol club member is
present. Times are 7:00-10:00 p.m. Wednesdays & Thursdays, and Saturday mornings.
The November membership meeting will be held Wednesday, November 7, at 7:30 p.m. in the
basement of Lewis Hall, LCSC campus.
If you are still receiving this letter via US mail, but would like to receive it via
e-mail, please
send your name and e-mail address to dts@clarkston.com or
kjacks@clarkston.com. This could
save the club considerable costs in copying and postage.
