December 2001 Newsletter

Annual elections for Board of Directors and Officers of the club are coming up at the December 
membership meeting. We must have a quorum of at least 15 voting members to conduct 
elections. The election process will begin with nominations for the Board of Directors. There 
are five Director's positions open - two to replace Directors who resigned, and three whose terms 
expire at the end of 2001. Nominations so far from the November meeting are Ron Heideman, 
Sparky Sparkman, and Bob Humphrey. Immediately following election of Directors will be 
nominations for Officers. Offices of President, Vice President, and Second Vice President are 
open to Directors who have served on the Board the previous year. Election of Officers will 
follow nomination of Officers.

The club still needs more range officers. The Board recommended incentives to help recruit 
and keep range officers, and these incentives have been approved by the general membership: 1) 
annual dues are waived for members who have served as range officer at least six days in the 
previous year, 2) range officers may shoot at the range at times the range is not normally open as 
long as they are accompanied by another person for safety reasons, 3) a range officer recognition 
plaque will be established at the range with names entered on the plaque after six days of service 
and stars added by names for continuing service. If you can possibly help out as a range officer, 
call Ron Heideman at 746-6821.

The 1 of 1,000 donation drive will be closed out with the prize drawing to take place at the 
December membership meeting.

The annual membership meeting attendance prize drawing will also take place at the December 
membership meeting.

The December membership meeting will be held Wednesday, December 6, at 7:30 p.m. in the 
basement of Lewis Hall, LCSC campus.
