January 2002 Newsletter


Annual elections for the Board of Directors and officers were held at the December membership meeting.  Board members elected to fill vacancies were: Bob Humphrey, John Fisher, Ron Heideman, Sparky Sparkman, and Stan Wilson.  The entire Board of Directors for 2002 is: 

Hal Coder serving 1st consecutive term      expires Dec. 2002
Jerry Wilson serving 1st consecutive term   expires Dec. 2002
Stan Wilson serving 1st consecutive term   expires Dec. 2002
Marc Gomez serving 1st consecutive term   expires Dec. 2003
Dennis Schult serving 1st consecutive term   expires Dec. 2003
Sparky Sparkman  serving 1st consecutive term  expires Dec. 2003
Bob Humphrey serving 2nd consecutive term expires Dec. 2004
John Fisher serving 2nd consecutive term expires Dec. 2004
Ron Heideman serving 1st consecutive term  expires Dec. 2004

Marc Gomez was elected President, Dennis Schult was elected 1st Vice President, and Hal Coder was elected 2nd Vice President.

The 1 of 1,000 drawing was completed and the winning name was Bernard Moser.

The membership meeting attendance prize for 2001 went to Ken Jacks.

For the past few years the Palouse Practical Shooters have been putting on a unique event near Cavendish called the Boomer Shoot, which is basically a long-range rifle shoot at explosive targets.  This year’s event will be May 3-5, 2002.  If you are interested in participating or just observing, visit the web site www.boomershoot.org/2002/blast.htm for information, or contact Joe Huffman at joeh@boomershoot.org or call his cellular number (208) 301-4254.

The January membership meeting will be a special dinner meeting with a presentation.  Come to the Helm restaurant January 2 beginning at 6:00 p.m.  After dinner (following a short membership meeting), John Fisher will show slides and speak about his trip to Pakistan.
