May 2002 Newsletter

With nicer weather, the range is getting quite busy again. I hear the bass are starting to bite also. So many things to do in the summer, and so little time!

There is another CMP shoot tentatively scheduled for June 15. Contact Ken Jacks for additional information (798-7380, kjacks@clarkston.com).

Is anyone interested in helping to coordinate events at the range, such as CMP shoots, kids' shoots, running deer/fun shoots, etc.? Please contact either Ken Jacks (798-7380, kjacks@clarkston.com), or Marc Gomez (746-0209).

The Idaho state pistol silhouette shoot will be hosted by the Lewiston Pistol Club at the LCWC range May 24-27 (Memorial Day weekend). Everyone is welcome to attend to shoot or just to observe. Contact Ron Stryker (746-8483) for additional details.

The Top Gun Shootout will be held for its third year at the Flying B Ranch near Kamiah on Saturday, June 8. Shooters must choose four of the seven events to shoot in: long range rifle, offhand rifle, rimfire rifle, handgun, muzzleloader, archery, and shotgun. Entry fee is $50; top prize $300; proceeds benefit Kooskia library. Contact Dennis Schult for more info (758-6108, dts@clarkston.com).

The Board has decided to rent a table at the gun show in Lewiston May 18-19 to help get more exposure for the club and the range. Volunteers are needed to man the table both days. Please contact Marc Gomez (746-0209).

If anyone has a small refrigerator, a TV, or a VCR that they would be willing to donate to the club, these items would be very useful to have at the range in connection with putting on shoots, classes, or other events. Remember, donations to the club are tax deductible.

The May membership meeting will be held Wednesday, May 1, 7:30 p.m., in the basement of Meriwether Lewis Hall, LCSC campus.

If you are still receiving this letter via US mail, but would like to receive it via e-mail, please send your name and e-mail address to dts@clarkston.com; this could save the club considerable costs in copying and postage. LCWC web site: www.lcwildlife.org
