June 2002 Newsletter

A good share of dirt moving has been accomplished at the range, including a road out to 500 meters. Currently, the longest range available for shooting is 300 yards/meters, but work is continuing. Once completed, all target lines out to 500 meters will be no more than 6% gradient (uphill) from the firing line.

The club’s table at the gun show in Lewiston May 18-19 was well-manned - thanks to those volunteers that helped out. Attendance was a little on the slim side, but it still helped get the word out about the range and the club. Thanks also to Frank Perkins for all his work to carve the wooden sign that was displayed - good job!

The Idaho state pistol silhouette shoot will be hosted by the Lewiston Pistol Club at the LCWC range May 24-27 (Memorial Day weekend). Everyone is welcome to attend to shoot or just to observe. Contact Ron Stryker (746-8483) for additional details.

The Top Gun Shootout will be held for its third year at the Flying B Ranch near Kamiah on Saturday, June 8. Entry fee is $50; top prize $300; proceeds benefit Kooskia library. Contact Dennis Schult for more info (758-6108, dts@clarkston.com).

There is a CMP shoot scheduled for June 15. Pre-registration is required. Contact Ken Jacks for additional information and to sign up (798-7380, kjacks@clarkston.com).
