November 2002 Newsletter

September and October were very busy months at the range, and some new attendance records were set in that time.

Annual elections for Board of Directors and Officers of the club are coming up very soon. Nominations for the Board of Directors will begin at the November general membership meeting. We must have a quorum of at least 15 voting members to conduct nominations. There are three Director's positions expiring at the end of 2002. Final nominations and election of Directors will be at the December membership meeting on December 4. Immediately following election of Directors will be nominations for Officers. Offices of President, Vice President, and Second Vice President are open to Directors who have served on the Board the previous year. Election of Officers will follow nomination of Officers at the December meeting.

Friday, November 15, the range will be open for an ATK free shoot day from 9:00 to 4:00. Regular range fees will be waived for all ATK CCI Speer employees that day - just show your ATK ID.

Plans are in the works for a .22 rimfire youth shoot sometime in December - stay tuned.

There is a Basic/Intermediate Tactical Pistol class taught by Louis Awerbuck tentatively scheduled for July 18-20, 2003, at the LCWC range. Cost will be approximately $400. Contact Bill England for details (england@lewiston.com).

The club has reserved a table for informational purposes at the gun show in Lewiston November 23-24. Ron Heideman has volunteered to man the table, but I'm sure he'd welcome any help.

Richard Oliver, Idaho Department of Fish and Game employee and LCWC volunteer range officer, passed away this last month - he will be missed.

The November membership meeting will be held Wednesday, November 6, 7:30 p.m., in the basement of Meriwether Lewis Hall, LCSC campus.
