December 2002 Newsletter

With the holidays coming up everyone seems to get busy with family gatherings, social engagements, etc., so the range generally tends to slow down this time of year. For that reason, the range will be closed the weekend after Thanksgiving and the weekend after Christmas.

Annual elections for Board of Directors and Officers of the club will be held at the December general membership meeting. Nominations for the Board of Directors will still be open at the December membership meeting. We must have a quorum of at least 15 voting members to conduct nominations and elections. There are three Director’s positions expiring at the end of 2002. Immediately following election of Directors will be nominations for Officers. Offices of President, Vice President, and Second Vice President are open to Directors who have served on the Board the previous year. Election of Officers will follow nomination of Officers at the December meeting.

There is now a short walk-through archery range ready for use at the LC range site, with shooting distances ranging from 10 to 40 yards.

The .22 rimfire youth shoot has been postponed until sometime in January due to the holiday season and other activities going on.

There is a Basic/Intermediate Tactical Pistol class taught by Louis Awerbuck scheduled for July 18-20, 2003, at the LCWC range. Louis is one of the premier pistol instructors in the United States. Cost will be approximately $400. Contact Bill England for details (743-4549, england@lewiston.com).

The December membership meeting will be held Wednesday, December 4, 7:30 p.m., in the basement of Meriwether Lewis Hall, LCSC campus.

If you are still receiving this letter via US mail, but would like to receive it via e-mail, please send your name and e-mail address to dts@clarkston.com; this could save the club considerable costs in copying and postage.
