February 2003 Newsletter

The .22 rimfire youth shoot was held at the range on January 25. Due to the rainy weather, there was a small but enthusiastic group of youths who participated in the event. Gift card awards were presented in two age groups for best score, tightest group, and most number of X's. There was also a random drawing in two age groups for a gift card. All the kids had fun! We plan to do this again in the spring when the weather is nicer.

I am planning on holding a .22 rimfire rifle silhouette shoot on Sunday, February 9 - let's show up about 9:30 and get started shooting by 10:00. This will be really informal guys - just want try getting it kicked off to start and see where it goes from there. Any .22LR rifle will do (no .22 magnum or 17HMR), scopes or open sights - if the idea takes off we'd want to have open sights in a separate class. Any further questions contact me at 758-6108 or dts@clarkston.com.

There will be a CMP shoot held on Sunday, February 23. Additional CMP shoots later in the year are scheduled for April 27 and June 22. For additional information, contact Ken Jacks at 798-7380, or kjacks@clarkston.com.

There will be a pistol/cowboy rifle silhouette shoot held at the range on Saturday, February 15.  The next silhouette shoot will be March 15. For a complete schedule for the year see our web site or the Lewiston Pistol Club's site (www.lewistonpistol.org).

The February membership meeting will be held Wednesday, February 5, 7:30 p.m., in the basement of Lewis Hall, LCSC campus.

If you are still receiving this letter via US mail, but would like to receive it via e-mail, please send your name and e-mail address to dts@clarkston.com; this could save the club considerable costs in copying and postage.
