March 2003 Newsletter
The Board has considered opening the range for use on Fridays, but there is a concern that
there are not enough range officers available to continue keeping it open on Fridays, particularly
come hunting season. However, we have gotten commitments from enough range officers to
give it a try. So until further notice, the range will be open on Fridays from 9:00-4:00.
The first informal .22 rimfire rifle silhouette shoot was held on Sunday, February 9. For this
time around, we just used the pistol silhouette targets to see what level of interest there was in
such an event. Turnout was more than I had expected, with 12 shooters. Top scores with scoped
rifles were: Luke Rinebold, 35; Dennis Schult, 31; Mike Garcia, 30. High scores with iron sights
were: Mike Garcia, 37; Scott Rinebold, 35; Ron Stryker, 32. We are planning on doing it again
on Sunday, March 9. Any further questions contact me at 758-6108 or dts@clarkston.com.
There was a CMP shoot held on Sunday, February 23. A total of 12 shooters turned out, and the
top shooters were: Kevin Spradlin, 257-2X; Brad Manau, 251-1X; Ken Jacks, 250-2X.
Additional CMP shoots later in the year are scheduled for April 27 and June 22. For additional
information, contact Ken Jacks at 798-7380, or kjacks@clarkston.com.
There will be a pistol/cowboy rifle silhouette shoot held at the range on Saturday, March 15.
The next silhouette shoot will be April 20. For a complete schedule for the year see our web site
or the Lewiston Pistol Club's site (www.lewistonpistol.org).
There are plans in the works for a family fun shoot sometime in early April; details next month.

e-mail, please send your name and e-mail address to dts@clarkston.com; this could save the club considerable
