May 2003 Newsletter
The weather is getting warmer these days (if it would just dry out some day),
so it's the perfect time to get back into practice with your favorite rifle or
pistol. And remember, the range is now open for use on Fridays, so come
on out.
There was a family fun shoot held at the range on Saturday, April 12.
Turn out was good, and everyone young and old had a wonderful time.
Another .22 rimfire rifle silhouette shoot was held on Sunday, April 13.
Only six shooters turned out this time around, but we all still had a good time.
Top honors went to Scott Rinebold, with scores of 33 and 35. Other shooters with
scores in the 30's included Ron Stryker, Jeff Houck, and Dennis Schult. There
will be another shoot on Sunday, May 11. Any further questions contact me at
758-6108 or
dts@clarkston.com.
Congratulations to Brent McGreer, son of member Dale McGreer. Brent received the
Hilton Hotels DECA scholarship for $1000.00, which will be awarded at the DECA
Career Development conference in Orlando, Florida. Brent was one of 5 winners in
the nation.
The annual Friends of NRA dinner will be Saturday, May 10. As usual,
there will be a live auction, silent auction, raffles, etc. Come out and support
the organization that has done so much to support your range. Get tickets from
Hal Coder or Don Nelson.
There will be a pistol/cowboy rifle silhouette shoot held at the range on
Sunday, May 18. The next silhouette shoot will be June 15. For a complete
schedule for the year see our web site or the Lewiston Pistol Club's site (www.lewistonpistol.org).
The Top Gun Shootout will be held again this year at the Flying B Ranch
near Kamiah on Saturday, June 14. Shooters must choose four of the seven events
to shoot in: long range rifle, offhand rifle, rimfire rifle, handgun,
muzzleloader, archery, and shotgun. Please see the attached
entry form for details or contact Dennis Schult (758-6108,
dts@clarkston.com).
The May membership meeting will be held Wednesday, May 7, 7:30 p.m., in
the basement of Meriwether Lewis Hall, LCSC campus.
If you are still receiving this letter via US mail, but would like to receive it
via e-mail, please send your name and e-mail address to
dts@clarkston.com; this could save the club considerable costs in copying
and postage.
