June 2003 Newsletter
I guess when it decides to turn into summer it doesn't waste any time! With hot
weather coming
and school to be out soon, range use has diminished somewhat. So mow that lawn
or weed that
garden in the evening, and come out to the range in the morning when it's still
cool.
A .22 rimfire rifle silhouette shoot was held on Sunday, May 11. Only
five shooters turned out
this time. With interest appearing to dwindle, I will hold only one more shoot
before summer, on
Sunday, June 8. Any further questions contact me at 758-6108 or dts@clarkston.com.
There will be a Hunter Education class held the second week of June, with
a range session on
Saturday, June 14. Contact Kent Henderson for more information (746-9046).
There will be a pistol/cowboy rifle silhouette shoot held at the range on
Sunday, June 15. The
next pistol silhouette shoot will be July 13. For a complete schedule for the
year see our web site
or the Lewiston Pistol Club's site (www.lewistonpistol.org).
The Top Gun Shootout will be held again this year at the Flying B Ranch
near Kamiah on
Saturday, June 14. Shooters must choose four of the seven events to shoot in:
long range rifle,
offhand rifle, rimfire rifle, handgun, muzzleloader, archery, and shotgun.
Contact me for an
entry form or for more details (758-6108,
dts@clarkston.com).
There will be a CMP/M1 Garand shoot held at the range on Sunday, June 22.
Pre-registration
is highly recommended. If you have not already filled out a CMP affidavit, one
can be
downloaded from the LCWC web site. Contact Ken Jacks for more information
(798-7380,
kjacks@clarkston.com).
The June membership meeting will be held Wednesday, June 4, 7:30 p.m., in
the basement of
Meriwether Lewis Hall, LCSC campus.
If you are still receiving this letter via US mail, but would like to receive it
via e-mail, please
send your name and e-mail address to
dts@clarkston.com; this could save the club considerable
costs in copying and postage.
