December 2003 Newsletter

With daylight short these days, the range has now gone to winter hours: 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

There was a youth shoot held at the range on Saturday, November 15. Targets included paper bullseye targets at 25, 50 and 75 yards, and silhouette targets at 40 and 75 meters. Overall top scorers were: 8-13 years old - Gordon Larsen, Briana Gomez, Zak Rasmussen; 14-17 years old - Catherine Brown, Joe Disarno, Josh Gatherer.

The club is in dire need of someone to maintain the accounting books, because as of the first of the year, Ken Jacks will no longer be performing this function for the club. If you can possibly manage to help the club with this task, please contact either Ken Jacks (kjacks@clarkston.com, 798-3159), or Marc Gomez (746-0209).

Annual elections for Board of Directors and Officers of the club will be held at the December general membership meeting. Nominations began at the November membership meeting and will continue at the December meeting. There are three Director's positions expiring at the end of 2003. We must have a quorum of at least 15 voting members to conduct nominations and elections. Immediately following election of Directors will be nominations for Officers. Offices of President, Vice President, and Second Vice President are open to Directors who have served on the Board the previous year. Election of Officers will follow nomination of Officers at the December meeting.

The December membership meeting will be held Wednesday, December 3, beginning at 6:00 p.m., in the basement of Meriwether Lewis Hall, LCSC campus (note the change of location from last month, because we could not get a room at the Helm restaurant on this date). Guy Neill of ATK will continue on where Allan Jones left off at the November meeting talking about metallic cartridge reloading fundamentals.

If you are still receiving this letter via US mail, but would like to receive it via e-mail, please send your name and e-mail address to dts@clarkston.com; this could save the club considerable costs in copying and postage.
