September 2004 Newsletter

The range will be open on Mondays for the month of September for hunter sight-in. Thanks to Jack Von Bargen for volunteering to open the range on Mondays.

The Board of Directors has decided that there is an extremely important question regarding range operation that needs to be presented to the membership for consideration. This question will be discussed and voted upon at the October general membership meeting held on October 6, 2004. The question to be addressed is:

1) Should the Lewis-Clark Wildlife Club allow a shooting organization exclusive use of the entire range, including all 24 benches, to put on a shooting event?

Should that question be approved, there would be (at least) two more questions to be decided:

2) What time limitation(s) should be placed on such an event?
and
3) What fee(s) should be associated with such an event?

The membership should also understand that any decisions resulting from the October membership meeting on these questions would also require consultation with Idaho Fish and Game for approval.

Thank you to those who worked August 4 and 18 to keep weeds down and clean up brass: Ken Jacks, Frank Perkins, Dean Narramore, Mike Garcia, Rick Brigham, and Bob Humphrey. There will be additional work days on September 1 and 15; please contact Mike Garcia at 798-3279.

The September membership meeting will be held Wednesday, September 1, beginning at 7:30  p.m., in the basement of Lewis Hall, LCSC campus.
