February 2005 Newsletter

Due to a shortage of volunteer range officers, and also a small number of shooters on Sundays, the range will be closed on Sundays in January and February. The range will remain open on Fridays and Saturdays 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. If anyone can possibly help out as a range officer, please contact Marc Gomez (746-0209), as we depend on volunteers to keep the range open; the range cannot be open unless a range officer is on duty. Being a range officer is not difficult, and some additional benefits include waiving of your membership dues if you served at least 6 days in the previous year, and the ability to use the range on off days as long as you are accompanied by another person (for safety reasons).

The annual Friends of NRA banquet and auction will be held at the Lewiston Elks Club on Saturday, February 19. Come out and support the organization that has done so much financially to support our range. For tickets call Frank Perkins (743-2452) or Ken Jacks (798-3159).

The issue of the membership initiation fee and range shooting fees was brought up at the last membership meeting, and it was agreed that those fee structures would be discussed at the February membership meeting. So come out and voice your opinion.

Chipman and Taylor Chevrolet in Pullman is willing to enter into an agreement with the club regarding discounts for club members on service, parts, etc. This will also be discussed at the February membership meeting, so if you are interested in such an arrangement, please make your voice heard.

The February membership meeting will be held Wednesday, February 2, beginning at 7:30 p.m., in Room B30 in the basement of Lewis Hall, LCSC campus.

If you are still receiving this letter via US mail, but would like to receive it via e-mail, please send your name and e-mail address to dts@clarkston.com; this could save the club considerable costs in copying and postage.
