July 2005 Newsletter

There is a critical shortage of range officers, and for safety reasons the range cannot remain open without range officers on duty. That may sound like a broken record, but there have already been two days this year when the range ended up not opening because there was no range officer available. Benefits of being a range officer include waiver of shooting fees and waiver of membership dues. If you can possibly volunteer to be a range officer, even if only for a few days a year, please contact Marc Gomez at 746-0209. This issue is coming to a crunch, and WITHOUT MORE RANGE OFFICERS THE RANGE WILL CLOSE! Even if not entire closure, days of operation are sure to be reduced.

The range will be closed on Sunday, July 3, in observance of the Independence Day holiday.

Just a (final) reminder that non-member shooting fees go up to $6.50 plus tax, effective July 1, 2005.

The club is selling raffle tickets to win a 4-wheeler. 1,500 tickets are being sold at $10 each to raise funds for range expansion/improvement. For tickets, contact Frank Perkins (743-2452), or any Board member.

The July membership meeting will be held Wednesday, July 6, beginning at 7:30 p.m., in Room B30 in the basement of Lewis Hall, LCSC campus.

If you are still receiving this letter via US mail, but would like to receive it via e-mail, please send your name and e-mail address to dts@clarkston.com; this could save the club considerable costs in copying and postage.
