February 2006 Newsletter
The club has new hats for sale. Billed caps in either camo or dark green,
with either LCWC or Lewis-Clark Wildlife Club imprint, for$15 each. Stocking
caps in blue for those cold days at the range for $10. Those of you who get the
newsletter via e-mail, see the attached photo;
if you get regular mail, see hats on display at the range. Check ‘em out and buy
some to support your club!
2006 schedules are being worked out for various shooting events at the range,
such as CMP, pistol silhouette, and handgun training classes in the summer. Stay
tuned for updates soon.
From President Rick Brigham: I would like everyone who shoots at the
range to THANK the RO’s for the job they are doing! They are all volunteers that
keep the range operating three days a week. Without the RO’s, this would just be
a club without a shooting range. So appreciate their efforts when you see them.
If you are interested in becoming an RO, contact Dean Narramore at 509-751-3279.
The club needs all it can get to spread the load for all RO’s. When you visit
the range next time, look at the plaque by the check-in counter. Each star
represents serving as an RO six days in a year. Last year five RO’s had one
star, Marc Gomez had two, Vern Judkins and Dan Brandolino each had three, Dean
Narramore and Jack Von Bargen each had four, and Frank Perkins led the group
with six! Well done, gents.
We still have a lot of raffle tickets left to sell to reach our goal of 1,500.
So far 261 tickets have been sold, or only 17%. We need to sell at least 500 to
break even; any additional will provide funds to buy a two-person 4x4 ATV for
use at the range. This will allow us to transport disabled shooters to their
targets and back; haul targets to the 200 yard butts and beyond; and spread soil
sterilant and herbicide. We need your help. Tickets have been sold at local
sporting goods stores and pawn shops; at gun shows; and at the Nez Perce County
Fair. They have also been hawked through news releases in the Tribune and on
shooting match flyers. We have been the most successful at the last gun show.
The club will have a booth at the next gun show, which is in mid-March. We need
help at the gun show, and any other ideas anyone may have, to improve sales.
We’d like to get all the tickets sold and have the drawing before the end of
2006.
Friends of the NRA banquet and auction is coming soon on February 18th at the
Red Lion in Lewiston. Please try to attend to support shooting and the Second
Amendment.
The February membership meeting will be held Wednesday, February 1,
beginning at 7:30 p.m., in Room B30 in the basement of Lewis Hall, LCSC campus.
Ed Schriever of Idaho Fish & Game will be talking about and answering
questions about new Idaho fishing regulations.
If you are still receiving this letter via US mail, but would like to receive it
via e-mail, please send your name and e-mail address to
dts@clarkston.com; this could save the
club considerable costs in copying and postage.
