March 2006 Newsletter
The March membership meeting will feature updated Range Officer training.
Please, all of you who have accepted the responsibility of being Range Officers,
attend if at all possible. Ken Jacks will go over the new cash register and run
through a couple of scenarios, and there will also be a review of current RO
duties. Your attendance will help make the range run better than ever.
Defensive classes to be held at the range this coming summer include Bill
Jeans running a basic pistol class 6/24-25 and an advanced pistol class 6/26-28.
Louis Auerback will be teaching a class 7/21-23, specific topic to be
determined. For more information, contact Bill England at 743-4549 or england@lewiston.com.
There will be a CMP match held at the range Saturday, March 11. To sign
up, or for questions, contact Ken Jacks at 798-3159 or kjacks@lewiston.com.
The Club still needs to find a person (retired surveyor?) who can run a survey
transit to help stake out the target lines at 300, 385/400, and 500
yards/meters. Once they are staked, the total volume of dirt to be moved will be
determined, and the Club can then seek funding for the work. The surveying needs
to be done during the work week, so that regular shooting hours will not be
impacted. If you can help in this, please call Rick Brigham at (509)751-0310.
Frank Perkins is heading up a range maintenance work party almost every
Wednesday. In February, new shooting platforms for the CMP matches were
carpeted. Next up to be done is an inventory of all the materials located behind
the 100-yard berm to see what is usable. Volunteers are also needed to man
the LCWC booth at the upcoming (mid-March) gun show at the Nez Perce County
fairgrounds - call Frank at 743-2452.
The March membership meeting will be held Wednesday, March 1, beginning at 7:30
p.m., in Room B30 in the basement of Lewis Hall, LCSC campus.
If you are still receiving this letter via US mail, but would like to receive it
via e-mail, please send your name and e-mail address to
