June 2006 Newsletter

The rescheduled CMP clinic was very informative. Allan Ewing was an excellent instructor; everyone who attended learned something - even how to load two rounds into a Garand without using one of those fancy two round clips. The next (and last) CMP match will be held at the range June 10, which will be a B course match: slow fire prone, rapid fire prone from standing, rapid fire sitting from standing, and standing. To sign up, or for questions, contact Ken Jacks at 798-3159 or kjacks@lewiston.com.

There will be a Beginning Handgun Class for Women held at the range Saturday, June 3. For more information, contact Joe Metz at 751-8681 or jmetz38@msn.com.

Since there are no other matches scheduled until November, is there any interest in putting on a kids' fun shoot or group shoot (benchrest and non-benchrest) or any other type of event at the range? If so, contact Rick Brigham at 751-0310, or rick-ceil@syringa.net, or come to the membership meeting with your ideas.

The raffle drawing for the ATV, second, and third prizes will be held at the August general membership meeting. If you have not already done so, get those ticket stubs and cash to Frank Perkins or bring them to the next meeting.

Dave Zwerneman has a spotting scope for sale - NIB 12x-24x50mm Burris compact spotting scope, $125; call 746-5587 if interested.

From President Rick Brigham: I want to thank everyone in this club who helps make everything work. From RO's, to handling maintenance chores, doing both types of newsletters, bookkeeping, check-writing, mail handling, and the raffle. None of this would get done without all of you. A BIG THANKS! And keep up your efforts, as they are greatly appreciated.

The June membership meeting will be held Wednesday, June 7, beginning at 7:30 p.m., in room B32 in the basement of Lewis Hall, LCSC campus.
