September 2006 Newsletter

The club’s raffle drawing was held at the August membership meeting. First prize went to Herb Clyne of Culdesac; second to Dewaine Erickson of Lewiston; third to Ron McLaughlen of Clarkston; fourth to Ed Rolfe of Culdesac. Congratulations to the winners! And thanks to all who spent a lot of time and effort selling and mailing the 674 tickets that went into the drawing, especially Frank Perkins and Stan Wilson.

IDFG is looking for people who would like to become Hunter Education and/or Bowhunter Education Instructors.  If you like to work with kids and want to help keep our hunting heritage alive, then becoming a volunteer Hunter or Bowhunter Education Instructor is what you’ve been looking for.  Contact B.J. Lillibridge, Hunter Education Coordinator, at (208)799-5010 for details about a one day certification seminar or stop in at the IDFG office at 3316 16th St.

A Hunter Safety Graduate Sight-In Day will be held at the range on Saturday, September 16.  B.J. Lillibridge, IDFG Hunter Safety Coordinator, is also handling this event.

From President Rick Brigham:  Range maintenance continues.  The bridge on the 6-bench side has been re-surfaced with 3/4 inch plywood, and painted, for shooter safety.  Thanks for continuing maintenance help goes to Frank Perkins, Dean Narramore, Jess Stone, and Kevin Spradlin.  Phase I of range expansion will include dirt work at the 200/300 yard/meter distances.

The September membership meeting will be held Wednesday, September 6, beginning at 7:30 p.m., in room B32 in the basement of Lewis Hall, LCSC campus.
