November 2006 Newsletter
The weather is cooler and wetter, leaves are turning - must mean it’s hunting
season! Hopefully you have been out after game of either the furred or feathered
variety and met with some success.
On the range maintenance front, for disabled shooters, there is now a
metal "disabled" sign on the fence west of the concrete slab, and new, large,
disabled symbols have been painted on the concrete slab, and a new line
indicates direction of parking, which is straight ahead, toward the fence. The
bridge on the 6-bench side has been painted again. Upcoming maintenance plans
include spreading more fill dirt, gravel and pea gravel (if you stay on the
gravel when checking your targets it means less mud tracked back onto the
shooting lines and less clean up work for the Range Officers), and maybe a new
sign or two.
From President Rick Brigham: Hello fellow shooters. I missed the last
meeting because I was out of town for 16 days, seeing relatives, etc. The
October meeting I missed was significant because there were not enough members
in attendance to do the club's business. All of you, PLEASE try to get to the
next two meetings! Here's why: 1) At the November meeting, nominations begin to
identify candidates for the Board of Directors for 2007, AND the Idaho Fish and
Game Department will show a film which will inform viewers why the Department
needs additional funding (come, watch, and voice your opinions); 2) At the
December meeting, election for 2007 Directors and Officers will be held. We need
at least a quorum for both meetings (a quorum is only 15 members of the club's
250+ total members.) Thank you. I hope to see many of you at the next two
meetings, and at the range.
The November membership meeting will be held Wednesday, November 1,
beginning at 7:30 p.m., in room B32 in the basement of Lewis Hall, LCSC campus.
