December 2006 Newsletter

Annual elections for Board of Directors and Officers of the club will occur at the December membership meeting.  We must have a quorum of at least 15 voting members to conduct nominations and elections.

Board Member Jess Stone suffered a heart attack several weeks ago.  He is on the mend, following installation of a stent in one of the two blocked arteries.  He will be given a stress test in the next few weeks to determine if he needs a second stent.  He has also had a bone marrow biopsy.  Please remember him in your thoughts or prayers.

One bank of the steel pop-up turkeys was recently shot through by some uncaring shooter with a high-power rifle, aided by an inattentive range officer; not a help during the silhouette match on November 19.  Pat Lightfield of Lewiston repaired the targets very quickly - thanks Pat.  Do not shoot the steel silhouette targets with high-power rifles!

If anyone has a tractor that could be used on Wednesdays for moving and spreading fill dirt and gravel, we need more fill dirt on the 18-bench side, plus gravel for the walkways, and pea gravel for the six-bench side.  Please call Rick Brigham at 751-0310 or Frank Perkins at 743-2452.

The Idaho Fish and Game presentation on its need for higher fees has been postponed until the January meeting, because of club elections.

From President Rick Brigham:  December’s general membership meeting is an important one - it’s time for election of new Board members and officers.  Board members Marc Gomez, Dennis Schult, and Kevin Spradlin will be moving aside.  Kevin has stepped aside because he is running a railroad in western Washington.  The club will also need a new Secretary, and a Newsletter editor.  Please come to the meeting to vote, and maybe participate as a Board member.  Thanks!
