January 2007 Newsletter
Annual elections for Board of Directors and Officers of the club were held at
the December membership meeting. Frank Perkins, Dan Brandolino, and Mike
Washburn were elected to 3-year terms; Bud Van Stone and Dennis Prine were
elected to 2-year terms. Rick Brigham was elected President, Jess Stone 1st Vice
President and Ernie Hall 2nd Vice President.
Range fees will increase effective July 1, 2007. New fees will be $3 for members
and $8 for non-members. Signs are to be posted at the range notifying people of
the coming increase.
Plans for 2007 include new signs on the county road, 200/300 yard dirt work and
target holders, south side tree replacement, gravel on 6-bench side, 13 matches,
RO appreciation dinner, promotion of junior shooting, and up-grade LCWC booth
for gun shows.
From President Rick Brigham: Thanks to all of you who attended the
December meeting we have new Board members and Officers for 2007. Also many
thanks to Dennis Schult and Marc Gomez for their very helpful past and
continuing support as Board members, Range Officers and treasurer.
Phase I – the 200/300 yard target butts- was completed by Kenny Teats (brother
of Burt Teats) using a large excavator on a very rainy, muddy December 14th.
We’ll need to build concrete target holders when the weather is drier and
warmer. The face of the 100 yard berm was also shaved to protect the steel
pop-up silhouette mechanisms. Also the “sound chamber” between the office and
18-bench side was completed last week as well. Thanks to Frank Perkins, Joe
Metz, and Dean Narramore for the “sound chamber”. Your president oversaw the
dirt work.
A 2007 match schedule consisting of 5 CMP events, 8 Silhouette shoots, and 4
special classes has been approved. The schedule will be posted at the range.
The January meeting will feature Mike Demick and B.J. Lillibridge from Idaho
Fish and Game, who will discuss the need for higher Fish and Game fees. Please
plan to attend, learn and comment. The meeting will be held in Meriwether Lewis
Hall room B32 on the LCSC campus starting at 7:30 PM on January 3rd.
This club is still woefully short of Range Officers. If you want to be one,
please contact
Dean Narramore at 758-3279. It would sure lighten the load on the existing RO’s!
