Lewis Clark Wildlife Club Newsletter - February 2010

SILHOUETTE MATCH FEBRUARY 27.  The 18 bench side will be closed for this, from 9AM to about noon. Pete Murray (509-243-3590) runs it. Cost is $8.00. See info in the February 25 OUTDOORS section of the Tribune, or fliers at sporting goods stores and pawn shops in the LC Valley.


GUN SHOW MARCH 20-21.  We need NEW PICTURES to put on the back board for the booth: Work parties; Hunting; Fishing. If you have any, contact Mike Washburn at 208-746-2699. Also, If you can help man the booth, contact John Embrey at 208-877-1703 for scheduling. THANK YOU!


NEW SPONSOR SIGNS.  The old ones are gone, to be replaced by new ones. Tony Love and Jean Clyne are working diligently on this. If you want to sponsor a sign, the cost will be $150 per year plus a $35 set-up charge for the first year.


FRIENDS OF NRA BANQUET is MARCH 27.  Cost is $40 per person. Contact Gary Blackwell at 208-790-3793 if you want to buy or sell tickets. Remember - FNRA grants have been used for the dividing wall at the range, the concrete target holders, and the new trap range, among other things. Support it!!


YOUTH SHOOT MAY 1.  This will be an in-depth training program on marksmanship and firearms safety. .22 rifles and 50 rounds of ammo will be sufficient. The club has several .22's available for this. Price will be $35 per student. More details later.


WEDNESDAY WORK DAYS AT THE RANGE.  Lots of small to not-so-small projects are underway. Tony Love is ramrod, and Mike Washburn 208-746-2699 or 208-305-7529 schedules the people. Recent jobs include the new shelf at the check-in counter, and fine cleanup of the workshop. Call if you can help. Look soon for a new rifle rack/table just back of the red line on the 18 bench side.


RANGE OFFICER MANUAL UPDATE.  Tony Love, Marc Gomez, and Rick Brigham have made many changes to the original RO Manual. There will one a final reading before the March meeting. After that, if you are an RO, expect some update training from RO Scheduler Tony Love. It is important that all RO’s become aware of the changes.


ATTENDANCE DRAWING.  Winner for January was Ed Endebrock and for February was Brad Morelock. Neither gent was at the meeting, so there is more money in the pot!
